Community Music Update

Community Music Update

We hope everyone is staying well during this challenging time.

Here are some quick updates on how Community Music has been adapting to the current crisis:

In the light of the Covid-19 pandemic measures, our premises are currently closed, but we are continuing to deliver our teaching online where possible.

Through the early stages of lock down, the team worked tirelessly to ensure that all current students on the Creative Music Production & Business foundation degree course were fully supported and resourced, in order to meet the learning outcomes and assignment deadlines of the degree programme.

Here's what our course leader, Matt, had to say:

We have successfully taken delivery of the entire degree online, including our vital live assessments at the end of each year. Assessment performance is on trend with what we would expect under normal conditions which is very positive. On this course we have a great advantage in that all our tutors are also music producers. These professional skills have helped us maintain high production values in delivery online.” — Matt Mars, Course Leader.

Whilst the on-going global events have forced a change in the way we do things, we have embraced these changes, using them as a catalyst to adapt, develop and improve our practices. Despite the challenges we are all currently facing, we see this period as an opportunity for creativity to thrive.

With that in mind, we have launched Re:Charge Sessions — free online lessons with a Community Music tutor, allowing you to start learning directly from your home.

Why not take this time to gain some new skills and have fun along the way?

Re:Charge Sessions include:

Music Technology & Production using Logic Pro X  software — Tuesdays 6-8pm (from 12th May 2020)

Starting A Business and Marketing Your Business — Fridays 4-5pm (from 15th May 2020)
