Band In A week invites a group of 11-18 year-olds to become band members, guiding them through four days of instrumental tuition and rehearsals under the supervision of experienced tutors, in preparation for a special live performance at the end of the week.

From Monday 12th to Friday 16th August 2019, young people joining the project can choose to learn guitar, bass, drums or get vocal tuition, and no prior experience is required to take part.

All musical styles are welcomed and creative expression is positively encouraged!

We are excited to continue our successful partnership with Alexandra Palace, delivering the project in the iconic building for the second summer running.

Participants will write, rehearse and perform music inspired by the Rock Against Racism movement, a cause that is close to Community Music's heart and unfortunately, increasingly relevant in today's social climate.
