Music Space is project run by Community Music in partnership with THAMES, Arts Council England, London Borough of Tower Hamlets and A Team Arts.
There are several routes of progression available to participants of Music Space.
Music Space Academy – every Saturday during term time we run the Music Space Academy for 13-19 year-olds. This is a great way for Music Space students to access free instrument tuition to compliment the rehearsal time and professional mentoring they receive. Young people can choose to study drums, guitar or bass.
Gig opportunities – The first step for any budding band or solo artist is to put their hours of hard work in the rehearsal room to practice and play some gigs! Music Space Live is a specially curated live music event that is designed to give Music Space participants the opportunity to perform live in a safe space in front of their friends, family and peers.
Music Production – Whether it’s learning to record instruments and vocals for their band, program and produce original backing tracks, or find out how to integrate audio into a music video, there are ways that Music Space students can access music production training at Community Music. The Music Producer Academy is a free course available to 13-19 year-olds. For those who want to progress to a professional level, they can apply for the Creative Music Production & Business foundation degree from the age of 18 onwards.
