CM and Rough Trade East proves there are “Greenshoots” with youth music showcase
On Saturday 2nd May at 3pm, Rough Trade East and local youth music organisation CM launched Greenshoots, showcasing the sound of young london. Greenshoots is the first monthly community music showcase of this calibre in the UK and features the music of young east end bands and musicians at the Rough Trade East store off Brick Lane, London.
Celebrating the sound of young London, Saturdays show consisted of three 10 minute performances featuring teenage bands The Ban Rays, The Fifth Vandetta and The Purple Socks, who were approached by Madame management straight after the show. The event allowed the audience to watch tomorrow’s musicians today as well as giving opportunity for the bands to perform to a knowledgeable and discerning audience. Previous CM successes include Asian Dub Foundation, Ctrl Z and Goldielocks.
