Morpeth School’s Battle Of The Bands 2014

CM staff were on hand to help judge the competition at the Tower Hamlets School’s 4th annual celebration of musical talent.

On Thursday 13th March, Morpeth School held it’s 4th annual Battle of The Bands competition.
CM’s Youth Music and Live Events Co-ordinator, Trevor McKinley and Marketing Manager Richard Clegg joined the panel of judges responsible for picking out the best performances on the night.
The event proved to be a successful one, with a high standard of music across a range of genres on stage and a great atmosphere provided by the excited crowd!

The winners were:

Best Band

1: Psycho Muffins

2: Operation Stealth Nugget

3: East End Boys

Best Male: Gilbert Virgo

Best Female: Lucy Izzet

CM has a developed a close relationship with Morpeth in recent years with many of their students joining the Music Space project, which offers free rehearsal space, support, mentoring and gig opportunities to 13-19 year-olds in the local area.
As winners of the ‘Best Band’ category, Psycho Muffins won a place on the Music Space project and performed at the recent Music Space Live gig, held at Rich Mix. East End Boys and Lucy Izzet also performed and will have a chance to audition for a place on Music Space.
