Under Your Eyelids at Whitechapel Gallery: Review
On Saturday 5th November, CM worked in partnership with the Whitechapel Gallery to help curate an event entitled ‘Under Your Eyelids’.
CM supported acts B.O.S.S, Connal & Jenneath, Mammoth Sound, Naga MC and Ben Bezzina performed specially prepared acoustic sets live at the Gallery in amongst paintings, sculptures and films.
The performances provided a unique musical backdrop to Polish artist Wilhelm Sasnal’s exhibition and the bands even composed original pieces inspired by particular paintings in the exhibition.
The event also featured fun interactive workshops lead by guest artist collectives and the bands were able to try their hands at T-shirt making and other activities as they waited to perform.
Under Your Eyelids was well attended and the musical performances went down well. The crowd of excited spectators, young and old, grew steadily throughout the afternoon.
CM are pleased to continue building a successful working partnership with Whitechapel Gallery and would like to thank Paul Crook from the Whitechapel Gallery’s Community Programmes department for his help on the day and support for the young musicians.
Footage of the performances can be seen on CM’s YouTube channel.
