Mammoth Sound to Perform at Music For Youth National Festival in Birmingham
National Festival Birmingham is a six-day celebration of music, bringing 12,000 young musicians from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to Birmingham.
The musicians will perform in different venues in the city, including Symphony Hall, Town Hall, Birmingham Conservatoire and HMV Institute. There are performances of jazz, orchestral, rock, folk, world, wind, brass, pop, choral and chamber music throughout the week. There is also an outdoor festival tent, with inspirational workshops, massed events and new commissions.
Mammoth Sound are a versatile, eclectic 6-piece band from Tower Hamlets, reflecting the vibrancy and multicultural energy of East London. They fuse their own unique style of hip-hop, jazz, soul, dub-step, drum and bass; accompanied by powerful vocals in English, French and Spanish.
The band have been supported by CM for several years in projects such as Music Space and during this time, have performed at many live music events like Underage Festival, as well as prestigious venues such as the Jazz Café, the Roundhouse and 02 Islington Academy.
After their successful performance at one of the regional festivals, held at London’s Rich Mix earlier this year, Mammoth were invited to represent CM at the National Festival.
Mammoth Sound will play at 17.15 on Thursday 5th July at the HMV Institute, 78 Digbeth High Street, Digbeth, Birmingham B5 6DY.
