CM Music Leader Training Course: Now Recruiting for Autumn 2016

The Music Leader Training Course is a unique opportunity for those with a background in music to gain in depth knowledge, practical experience and a qualification in teaching for the life long learning sector.

The Course is aimed at those who want to develop a career in community music leadership. Successful completion of the course will equip students to plan and lead quality music workshops and lessons and to operate professionally within different educational contexts and community arts settings.

Those who complete the course find work in different fields including schools, further education and adult colleges, community music/arts projects and a wide variety of organisations working cross the social, arts and charitable spectrum.


Please note that this course will not teach you how to play an instrument or sing.

• Gain a City and Guilds EaT qualification (Education and Training, previously preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector)

• Gain workshop leading skills

• Study teaching and learning theory

• Design your own teaching materials and resources

• Entry based on experience and motivation

• Previous qualifications not essential

• Trained specialist tutors

• Small class sizes

• Train with other musicians and artists, building friendship, support and creative ideas

1: 24-week evening course held on Tuesday evenings from 6-9pm:

2: 5-weekend intensive course spread over 2 months. Sessions will be Saturday and Sunday from 11am-6pm

Weekend 3: 19th and 20th Nov
Weekend 4: 3rd and 4th Dec
Weekend 5: 17th and 18th Dec

Bristol dates:

Weekend 1: 14th and 15th Jan 2017
Weekend 2: 21st and 22nd Jan
Weekend 3: 28th and 29th Jan
Weekend 4: 4th and 5th Feb
Weekend 5: 11th and 12th Feb

Both formats of the course cost £597 and can be paid in installments.
