Artist and Business Support
Artist and Business Support Programme
CM believes that musicians should be given the skills they need to enable them to develop their own music and careers independently. For this reason CM focuses most of it’s work on education programmes.
Alongside its training programmes CM has an Artist and Business Support Programme to give advice and support to those who are developing a music business of any kind. This support is given through 5 hour long mentoring sessions, the aim of which is to give advice and open doors to enable you to continue to build the success of your business. where appropriate, CM can assist in additional support such as
- Time with an appropriate industry professional such as a PR specialist, Lawyer, Digital Music Consultant or accountants.
- Use of a recording facility
- Rehearsal space
- Live performance opportunities
Your career development will depend on the effort that you put into it. CM seeks to help you to develop your career by investing in you. It is not CM’s intention that this programme will in itself make your career moving forward. For example this is not a talent contest or a ticket to stardom. CM will be able to give you practical support as you develop your business yourself.
CM has limited resources and will allocate these according to our selection criteria. One of our criteria is for you to supply a realistic business plan, with, if possible, specific aims and objectives for the support that we can give.
We will consider applications from those who can supply:
- Evidence of existing business success
- A summary of a business plan
- Have a clear idea of what is holding them back
We have 9 support places available each year. For 3 spaces we will give priority to those living or working in Tower Hamlets.
To apply email us at support@cmsounds.com with the following information:
1. A summary of your business plan
2. What you feel is currently holding you back from making your business a success
Please write no more than 500 words.
The deadline for applications is the 30th September 2009. If you have been shortlisted we will contact you within three weeks of that deadline to arrange an interview. If you have not heard from us within three weeks your application has been unsuccessful.
