Music Space is a UNIQUE project, which offers one to one support, rehearsal space, recording time and gigging opportunities to the young music makers of Tower Hamlets.
What’s it all about?
Music Space is a UNIQUE project, which offers one to one support, rehearsal space, recording time and gigging opportunities to the young music makers of Tower Hamlets. There are two strands to the programme. Music Space Bands and Music Space Production.
Four young bands aged 14-19 will get one to one support with a professional musicians to perfect, perform and record their tracks which will then be uploaded online. You will also have the chance to play at gigs throughout the year – including Music Space Live, now held at Rich Mix on Bethnal Green road.
Other bands with a bit more experience will be able to access free rehearsal facilities and gain access to support where necessary.
How long is the course?
The Music Space programme runs throughout the year.
How many days per week?
Music Space Bands: Sessions happen every Tuesday & Thursday evening from 5pm until 9pm. Rehearsal time is also available on other evenings during the week
Where is the course held?
Music Space is held at the Brady Arts Centre, 192-6 Hanbury Street, London E1 5HU. The nearest tube station is Whitechapel and we are about 10 minutes from London Liverpool street.
Who can apply?
Any local young people involved in a band or those who want to learn all about creative music production. You should be aged between 14 and 19 and have a passion for music.
How much does the course cost?
Music Space is free, there is no cost at all.
Will I get the chance to perform?
CM offers lots of opportunities for you to perform, as an individual artist or with your band.
For example, Music Space Live offers local young musicians the chance to perform at Rich Mix at the end of each term.

What can I do once I have completed the course?
After you have completed Music Space you can continue to use the rehearsal facilities if available and keep working on your music. There are other courses available if you want to learn more, and as always you can continue to perform live at lots of showcases and live events.
